Popcorn Muddy Buddies

I know by now you guys are aware of my popcorn obsession. I thought I’d seen (and eaten) it all, until I came across this take on one of my favorite childhood snacks.

Typically, this is made with Chex cereal, but this simply replaces the cereal with popcorn. I must say, this may be better than the original.

Pop your popcorn. I used 1 tablespoon of canola oil with 1/2 cup of kernels to get about 8-10 cups of popcorn. You could also just make a bag of microwave popcorn and use that for your base.

In a microwave safe bowl, add the milk chocolate chips and peanut butter.

Melt in the microwave on low heat, stirring every 20 seconds, until fully melted.

Pour half of the popped popcorn into a large bowl.

Drizzle with half of the melted chocolate and peanut butter.

Gently stir until the popcorn is coated.

Add the remaining popcorn and chocolate mixture to the bowl and stir again to coat.

Sprinkle the sea salt evenly on the popcorn.

Add all the coated popcorn into a large bowl with a lid (or a large paper bag), dump in the powdered sugar, and shake until the popcorn is fully coated.

Serve immediately, and try not to get a cavity.
