I grew up in Rochester, NY eating too many garbage plates and white hots (google them), and currently live in beautiful, coastal Kennebunk, Maine with my husband Andrew and our rescue pup Baxter — look at that happy boy!!! 😀

My love of food started with watching chefs like Lidia Bastianich and Ming Tsai on public television, and grew stronger as Food Network gained popularity. As a 12 year old, I preferred to spend my Friday nights watching Iron Chef (and honesty being scared of the sound of the sword lol) rather than doing whatever fun things kids my age were doing.

I love to make, update, and re-create recipes I am inspired by on Instagram, other food blogs (some of my favorites: zoe bakes, joy the baker, alexandra’s kitchen, and skinny taste), and from my family’s archives. This blog is a true reflection of how I cook and eat at home.

Some of my other hobbies are reading (my favorite books are: The Humans, The Heart’s Invisible Furies, Paper Towns, The Art of Racing in the Rain, and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy), sweating it out at Orange Theory South Portland, and Yelping!

I’m a sucker for pepperoni pizza, dumplings of any kind, mcdonalds fries, red wine (from Barolo to Lambrusco), and vanilla soft serve ice cream with crunch coat (year-round!). If I’m looking for something a *little* more fancy, I LOVE most seafood: scallops, shrimp, oysters, crab, and of course living in Maine – LOBSTER!

I think all the best foods have elements of crunch, salt and a hint of sweetness — and no matter what I’m eating, I always save the best bite for last.
