I grew up in Rochester, NY eating too many garbage plates and white hots (google them), and currently live in Salem, MA (yes, the one with the witches) with my boyfriend Andrew and our Pitbull/Lab mix Baxter, who we rescued from Georgia in May 2014.

My love of food started with watching chefs like Lidia Bastianich and Ming Tsai on public television, and grew stronger as Food Network gained popularity. As a 12 year old, I preferred to spend my Friday nights watching Iron Chef (and being scared of the sound of the sword) than doing whatever fun things kids my age were doing.

I focus on making/re-creating recipes I am inspired by on Instagram (addicted), other food blogs (some of my favorites: smitten kitchen, joy the bakerskinny taste, and sprouted kitchen), and from my family’s archives. I like to cook and bake about equally (though my baking has evolved, I still have trouble with that important thing called ‘measuring’), and my blog is a reflection of how I cook and eat at home.

Some of my other hobbies are reading (my favorites: The Art of Racing in the Rain, Paper Towns, Wild, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy), spinning, Yelping, and running.

But back to food…I’m a sucker for a good pepperoni pizza, soft serve, and dry champagne. I think all the best foods have elements of crunch, salt and sweetness, and I always save the best bite for last.
