I grew up in Rochester, NY eating too many garbage plates and white hots (google them), and currently live in Salem, MA…yes, the one with the witches…with my husband Andrew and our pitbull mix Baxter, who we rescued from Georgia in 2014.

My love of food started with watching chefs like Lidia Bastianich and Ming Tsai on public television, and grew stronger as Food Network gained popularity. As a 12 year old, I preferred to spend my Friday nights watching Iron Chef (and being scared of the sound of the sword) rather than doing whatever fun things kids my age were doing.

I focus on making/updating/re-creating recipes I am inspired by on Instagram, other food blogs (some of my favorites: zoe bakes, joy the baker, alexandra’s kitchen, and skinny taste), and from my family’s archives. This blog is a true reflection of how I cook and eat at home.

In addition to writing this blog, and because I love brown butter so much, I started a blondie bakery in late 2018 called Dirty Blondies Bake Shop…where brown butter is at the base of every blondie! I’m hoping to have online ordering setup by March of 2019, and I would love to share my little treasures with you!

Some of my other hobbies are reading (my favorite books are: The Heart’s Invisible Furies, Paper Towns, The Art of Racing in the Rain, and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy), sweating at Orange Theory, and Yelping!

I’m a sucker for pepperoni pizza, dry champagne, soft serve ice cream (regardless of season), and McDonalds french fries. I think all the best foods have elements of crunch, salt and sweetness, and I always make sure to save the best bite for last.
